  1. In a bowl add egg and sugar.Beat them well.
  2. Then add vanilla, oil, yoghurt. Mix all the ingredients well.
  3. Then add desicated coconut.Then add soji or semolina. Mix well.
  4. Then add salt and baking powder.Mix all the ingredients.Then add milk and milk powder.Mix well.
  5. Then pour all the mixture in a greased tin and let it rest for 1 hour.Then in preheated 180 degree oven bake the basbousa for 30 mins or until toothpick came out clean.
  6. In 1 hour resting of basbousa make the sugar syrup by mixing all the syrup ingredients in the pot and cook it for 3-5 mins or until the sugar melts.
  7. When you take out the basbousa from the oven immediately poke it and pour the sugar syrup ontop and rest it until it completely cool.
