Simple Way to Prepare Super Quick Homemade Mandazis

Hello everybody, it’s me, Dave, welcome to our recipe site. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, mandazis. It is one of my favorites food recipes. This time, I am going to make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan over medium heat. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cardamom, and salt. Make a well in the center, then use a rubber spatula to mix in the egg and coconut milk until the dough comes together. Mix the water, butter (or margarine, or oil), milk, and egg together.

The ingredients needed to make Mandazis:
  1. Take 3 eggs
  2. Get 400 g self raising flour
  3. Take 3 sp of butter/ margarine
  4. Prepare 80 g oil for frying
  5. Take 30 g sugar

Coconut milk is also commonly added for sweetness. When coconut milk is added, mandazi are commonly referred to as mahamri or mamri. Ground peanuts and almonds, among other ingredients, can also be used to add a different flavor. Cut into triangles and fry in hot oil.

Instructions to make Mandazis:
  1. Put flour in a bowl, add in sugar and stir really well. Add margarine and finally add in beaten eggs.
  2. Mis well. Add in warm milk and knead to form a soft dough. Let the dough rest for 10 min
  3. After which heat oil in a pan and let it start to heat up. Then in a flat surface roll the dough to be flat. The thickness of the dough depends on the how thick you want your mandazis to be. Most people include me prefer thin ones.
  4. Fry the mandazis both sides until golden brown. Then drain in a paper towel then serve.

Ground peanuts and almonds, among other ingredients, can also be used to add a different flavor. Cut into triangles and fry in hot oil. Fry until both sides are golden brown. Remove mandazi from oil and drain on paper towels or newspaper. Variations: * Sprinkle some powdered sugar over the hot mandazi.
